Tryon Equestrian Center - World-class facility, horse lovers from all over the world congregate here for competitions. 20 minute drive from The Oasis. Great holiday events with live music, shows, and shopping.
Climb to the Top of Chimney Rock - Unbelievable views of Lake Lure and the surrounding valley, you'll feel like you're on top of the world. 25 minute drive from The Oasis. Note that Chimney Rock State Park fee applies.

(There is even a Dirty Dancing tour a local company does where you visit various scene locations from the movie.)
